MCHS greenhouse

A new state-of-the-art greenhouse has been added to the Mount Carroll Jr./Sr. High School. The greenhouse will be used mainly as a production facility for the Mount Carroll FFA to raise lettuce, tomatoes, spring bulbs, vegetables, flowers, and poinsettias. The FFA also hopes to reimplement planting flowers with elementary students.

The facility is also being used for science, biology, and biological science applied in agriculture classes for research and experiments, and FFA students are using it to improve the quality of their floriculture and horticulture supervised agricultural experiences record books.

The FFA partnered with the Mount Carroll High School, the State of Illinois, the Dauphin family, and several private contributers to raise money for the construction of the greenhouse.
