"This is a small community with a very big heart." -- Toni Cunningham, Good Samaritan Center |
Construction on the Illinois Highway 78 bridge near downtown Mount Carroll continues as the main bridge support nears completion. Although construction signs detour traffic around Mount Carroll, the highway to the business section of downtown Mount Carroll is open. Also, light vehicles can detour through downtown Mount Carroll and across the Galena Street Bridge to get around the bridge construction. The 75-foot-high bridge spans the Waukarusa River. It is scheduled to be completed in November 2002.
